Role Description

We’re looking for a Voice developer with professional experience of more than 3 years. You will take on a central role in developing our products using open source telephony technologies such as Freeswitch, Kamailio, Asterisk, and interfacing with external telephony providers such as Twilio, Voip.ms, Les.net and Indian trunk providers like Airtel, BSNL, TATA with input from product management. Our teams are distributed in several locations serving customers in US, EU and India. Our team is on the forefront of technology, and love working with others via Meetups and Hackathons. Our technology stack includes Python, ElasticSearch, ReactJS, React Native, Cassandra, VoIP (Freeswitch), AWS, etc.

What will you work on?

• High scale with 99.99% guaranteed availability VoIP system
• Dealing with hardware vendors for physical devices
• Building speech recognition (Automated Speech Recognition)
• Text-to-speech services
• Intelligent conversational and transactional systems over voice platforms

Responsibilities

• Build distributed voice applications in the cloud.
• Build the application, test it, document it, and deploying it at scale.
• Work closely with and incorporate feedback from product, designers, and other key stakeholders in the company.
• Develop a project through its entire lifecycle.
• Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as draft specifications, architect solutions, define timelines, advise on industry best practice and problems to be solved.
• Quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced development environment.

Requirements

• Strong algorithmic and problem solving skills.
• Deep knowledge of data and communication protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
• Experienced with product development using any of Python, Java, or NodeJS and a database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Strong *nix troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable working in a flexible environment.
• Strong communication skills
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related stream is a must

• Architect and build highly distributed scalable backend systems.

• Work in a team-oriented environment, providing software development technical expertise and guidance to key stakeholders on variety of enterprise scale applications and projects
• Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as draft specifications, architect solutions, define timelines, advise on industry best practice and problems to be solved.
• Work closely with Clients, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Architects to develop effective, high-quality enterprise software solutions.
• Understand and apply a variety of project life-cycles, methods, and software development techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Python application development using frameworks like Django/Flask (1+ years)
• Hands-on knowledge of ORM, SQL, NoSQL, and Data Modeling
• Worked with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc
• Experience with Celery, RESTful APIs and server-side APIs integration
• Deep knowledge of SOLID principles
• Experience with TDD and ability to write quality unit tests
• Exposure to AWS, CI/CD, DevOps and web security
• Attention to detail, strong sense of ownership, and pride in the quality of one’s work

• Work as a team member using React.js and front end web development
• Develop user interface components which are robust and easy to maintain
• Work closely with Clients, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Architects to develop effective, high-quality enterprise software solutions
• Understand and apply a variety of project life-cycles, methods, and software development techniques
• Design, code, test and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget, using sound software development practices and secure coding requirements
• Implement and integrate RESTful APIs
• Aid in the diagnosis, correction, and prevention of service outages, defects, and other production or operational issues

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of overall software development experience
• 1+ years React.js experience
• Highly experienced in front end web development using HTML, CSS, JQuery and Less
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Experience with GIT for version control
• Experience with common frontend development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related stream is a must
• Bonus: Experience with Web Automated testing tools such as Selenium or TestNG
